A year ago we wouldn't know we will meet this way.

Who knows huichian's gonna take part in exchange programme to Norway?

Who knows kian howe is the lucky one who get selected for Nottingham Malaysia Award Scholarship to do his master here in UK?

We talked, we laughed out aloud, we discussed about silly stuff (as well as serious talk on economy during dinner), we exchanged travel and life stories and we made each other cannot sleep at night.

I felt everyone has grown up since we last meet. Which is why now I have to read more and see more so i'm not left behind.

it was a real good weekend to remember.

always being away from home makes me less homesick(actually, never homesick) and not missing home. --makes me sounds more like a sui lui bao.

then, i asked my mom if im supposed to feel bad as im not missing home. mom's reply was cool and it's the way i always like it:

"Frankly, we don really miss u (don feel bad) why??? cos when u are in kl, u were always not around most of the time too. so we are just used to not having u round the house. The first thing i found out when i woke up in the morning--- I DON'T HAVE GREY'S ANATOMY SEASON 3! The second thing, complaint to amoi! blamed her why she bought season 4 instead of season 3. Listening to my complains, she got no choice but just laughed at me.
---the day started off like that. It's a bad omen to kick start a day. It's no fun to be a light bulb so i went for raleigh therapy till late night. It's porridge again but a different one and i like the kacang as well as the night.

The day before i-dun-have-my-grey's- dvd day, it's nice to hang out in borders starbucks.

The day after i-dun-have-my-grey's- dvd day, it's going to be a tiring day. Look forward to meet my familiar faces! hopefully good team work this time in my last IW(for the next 2 years).

huh, i'm suffocated by the endless coursework and assignments, terrified by the new exam timetable.

rushing non-stop after annual dinner. never really rest well. everyday i collapse on bed and fall asleep in less than 2 second.

Walked, walked and walked...around Times Square to kill our time.

Decided, went in Peter & Guy. Took a picture of "before" (too bad su lan was not in it). Got a hair cut by "professional stylist". Poh-e was potong by a young lady which she now has a grudge on her, because she was unhappy with her too horizontal short fringe.

Lu yi could not stop her professional stylist from chopping her hair way too short. Outcome, she got a really short hair now and she looks like lu ying.

Su lan, her professional stylist trim-trim her hair, which i think made no difference and she paid the same price as us. Bfff...hahahaha !!!
(p/s from sulan: i like my hair washed and cut by him. i got no complaint.)

Me, got shouted by the woman "how short you want ??!". Intimidated, succumbed to her "professional cut". Little bob and short now. But all was bladed rather than using scissors. Cis !!!

Later went lunch at Food&Tea. And we took a picture of "after". Ok, of all the negative comment we had for Peter&Guy, we still bare it and accept it (not sure about poh-e though...)

Today, KL has such nice weather. Big blue sky, lots of cotton clouds and bukit tabur looks really awesome today.On our way to jiayen's house, I see trees of different colours on bukit tabur and shadow of the clouds on tree canopy. I got a feeling, it's gonna be a good day!

Since it's a good day and i'm feeling great(very much influenced by views of bukit tabur), i play mahjong. However, good day good feel doesn't bring good luck. I lose a lot in mahjong game. So, we change fengsui and went siewkhoon's new house.

Balcony view from her house is spectacular if you overlook all the low cost houses. How spectacular? I can see a very long range of Banjaran Titiwangsa which makes me excited enough!! This is even more awesome than bukit tabur view that i always mention. How i hope my balcony view is like hers, can see sunrise everyday. Can see my house from her house too! notice the yellow building in photo, that's my condo. I ask siewkhoon to hang red cloth at her balcony whenever she come back from sg to notify me, so I can kecoh her house.

Good feel after seeing banjaran titiwangsa, so we resume mahjong game. Again, good feel does not bring good luck and i lose a lot. Lucky thing this time is we play chips no real money.

This is gonna be a long long post loaded with photos to record what I have done after a torturous exam revision month that made me missed out ALL the school gatherings. I have been studying like no life, so i think i deserved some fun till CNY break ends.

First outing was at huichian's bro's wedding dinner. None of us are invited by his bro nor we know her bro and we just popped up in huichian's hse and helped finish up the not-too-bad (yeechien said malaysians don't praise) catering food. Then all 10 of us crashed into huichian's room and were all on a mission to dirty her bed. Me NOT being one of them bcoz i bathed and i wore a new t-shirt but i doubted abt ginyi cos he had curry blotted on his shirt. Had some chat but the most unforgettable one would be the gossip of the father and son. Beh entertained us by reading out aloud the newspaper article by the father. The gathering ended very early not as i expected. My definition of early.
When i was finally home, i texted emoi abt the new leather sofa in my living room.I dozed off on the lorenzo sofa.

The next day, i went bukit jalil again with different mates. This time, ruiqian and yipeng. 3 fellows who slept very late on the previous night apparently couldn't drag our lethargic body out from bed for badminton match final.Although a lil bit late, we made it in time coz malaysian match started late too.

The final ticket worth more than rm20 coz lee chong wei and KKK+TBH played in final. And both the malaysia team won! Everyone yelled like mad in unison to cheer the malaysia team and this is one of the very rare occasions where i witnessed malaysians are so united together.

I discovered another function of my D60. It can be used as a binocular when you realised you're too far from the objects. I zoom zoom zoomed for the players till i can even become the paparazzi of lee chong wei. For the whole day, i have been doing this and gained muscle pain for the whole night till next day.

Monday. I planned my own timetable. Before exam ends, i already planned to skip class and ajak them out for movie marathon. Watched sherlock holmes and 3d avatar with 10 mins break in between. I don't think i'll do any movie marathon again cos it is a waste of money when i cont. watching a second movie b4 i fully digested the first movie. I still prefer going for a movie and then spend the rest of the day digest and recall every scenes. And i gained neckache from movie marathon plus the unrecovered arm muscle sore from the previous day.

A week later. It's world cup trophy tour coming to msia at MVEC. Raleigh got a booth there so i went helped out and sibuk. I didnt plan to spend whole day at MV but i ended up staying there for a very long time. We walked around the exhibition centre for countless time, got our face conteng-ed, went in to watch 3d movie(better effect than 3d avatar) and took photo with trophy for twice, played all the coca-cola games except for the monkey fool game, drank free flow cokes and pee cokes, made a video to promote raleigh kau-kau, had random chats with coca-cola workers, meet jim,yo, celine, richard,wengkern and the semai puak from sepang and brought back a few cans of free coca-cola.

After i spent like half a day having fun in MVEC, i went out MV to meet evonne. I couldn't believe i went shopping with you again(actually not really shop) but in the end i bought nothing. Nth really special to make record for the exception of the very unexpected moment where you forced me to do manicure for the first time of my life. Then we went bookstore and i unexpectedly bumped into lim min and wengkern in the MPH. had a lil chat and i gave her the coke that i smuggled out from MVEC. Before having the idea of squeezing with all strangers(they could possibly smell my smelly green tee) in ktm to go home, we indulged ourselves in hagen daz ice-cream. The last time i had hagen daz was like 10+ years ago.

Evonne came for 3D2N vacation in kl. accomodation is my new room. 3D2N just passed like that, i felt i did nothing but i did sth : Watched movies, room painting, went midnight mamak and drenched in rain, trophy tour and shopping in mv, cibravo's garage sale, bookstores, my favourite homecooked dinner, pool side moon gazing (extremely huge moon in the KL sky tat made me love KL a bit more) , kena-halau-by-security-guard-again experience , smacking her with my pillow to wake her up and all those unexpected "gay" six senses happened.

a week later. The first marathon in my life, not a real marathon though because it was just 7.7km. I have never summoned up the courage to participate in any running event but i think putrajaya night marathon inspired me and i think i might go for 21km in KL marathon. I love running with music. Running makes me think and then it relaxes my mind. It's contradicting but i love the feeling. Chiayin said she loves running cos she enjoyed the feeling when she is on the verge of fainting and dying cos too tired of running. another weirdo.

We had fun running and kecoh at night marathon till the workers warned us to behave ourselves or else we can never go near the finishing line. It was a good night with raleigh bunch again and i wanna tell you all tongkat ali nescafe tasted not too bad, can try next time. I don't feel lethargy in me after the run and i forgot to grab a packet of banana powerbar home.

A perfect photo to end this remarkable day but not the holiday. I'm going to play till cny holiday ends.

What has Raleigh meant to you:

I guess none among the thousands ex-venturers regretted spending their 10 weeks' time out of normal life to embark on a Raleigh expedition, so am I.

So far, 10 weeks 'summer runaway vacation' to Sabah is still the most unforgettable 10 weeks in my life. It is so memorable and unique that I can still visualise vividly what I did on when and who I met at where. Being thrown into nowhere in the middle of Borneo jungle, I was given an opportunity to get ridiculously dirty and sweaty to construct a jungle camp in harsh environment; become so tanned that I was stunned by my skin color when I first looked into a mirror after working 3 weeks on a kindergarten site; challenged myself mentally and physically to the extreme in order to complete a 12 days trek at serene Long Pa'sia jungle with a little award journey to the hidden but undisputedly marvelous Maga Waterfalls.

Besides all the hardcore and fun stories shared by all, Raleigh expedition help improved my interpersonal and communication skills by forcing me ought to live together with strangers from either the UK or Bermuda. In this small community, I Iearnt how other youngsters work, communicate their different perspectives of life and not-to-forget but most importantly discovered the unknown side of myself. Despite Sabah is one of the states in Malaysia, I experienced culture shock in rural small village during my community phase. Life-long friends can be found in this lovely piece of land, where the simple yet sincere aboriginal community called it home.

Initiated by the love towards this kind of lifestyle and heartened by the kindness of the villagers, I revised my pharmacist dream. In the future, my dream is to gain as much pharmacy knowledge and bring benefits to this group of people by working in the place where I'm needed most. Upon returning home, I re-joined Raleigh committee as Expedition Officer to assist more youngsters like myself to their once-in-a-lifetime expedition. The environment and people could be the same but I feel myself it isn't the "usual" me anymore. People changed to improve, so get rid of the blues and keep up the positive spirit. Oh ya, friendship in Raleigh KL is not OK to NOT give it a mention. Without them, the crazy fellas, Raleigh KL is not Raleigh KL anymore as ALL of my crazy acts and thoughts are due to their enlightenment and influence.

Raleigh expedition 09Ephase3---trek@long pa'sia, dive@mamutik

finally and luckily, there comes my adventure phase for my last phase. this is the most enjoyable phase, more like a vacation. because we no longer have to work under hot sun!

after taking 4hrs of four wheel drive(with guaranteed good mountain view) from a small town Sipitang, we finally arrived to the KAMPUNG LONG PASIA!
photo of long pasia from a hill. i was so excited when i first arrived here. this village exists out of no where in the middle of the jungle. it is soo soo soo beautiful---a big piece of land, fulled of wooden houses,schools, football field, church and occasionally some small ladang, surrounded by mountain range and serene jungle.the cooling weather in long pasia makes the village the best villages to stay on in sabah.(i think la)

everyday, we trek with big rucksack and kena attacked by hundreds/thousands/millions/billions of desperate brown leeches/tiger leeches.

reached campsite,set up hammock,dining area. then, chill out time! people walk around, chit chat,play games....

if Nooh and the porters have got some free time, they will make us some games.

on the third day of trek, our guide,Nooh, he bubuk-ed a baby monkey! we named this cute little creature "Si Hutan". since then, hutan joined our team for the rest of the trekking phase and everyday he gave me a morning call by producing this "wu wu wu" sound. i remembered one of my trekking mate said:"isn't it a dream of every little boy to have a monkey as friend and let it sit on your shoulder?"

after chilling out, this is where we usually have a mandi ! i love all the rivers mandi in long pasia. challenged yourself to the extremem coldness!! we had fun time celup-ing there.

one of the river that we have to cross. it's a HUGE river,i was astounded. i've never seen a river like that. i remembered sitting by the river for a long time by just doing 1 thing, observed how the water flow.. thinking if i kena flush away by the river water and you will never see me again. dun play play....

one of the animal i got to eat at "karnivor" long pasia is.....pelanduk! taste a bit like pork and the meat was a bit rough. after the night we got pelanduk, we hoped for more: kancil, kijang, wild boar......but we never got any coz it was raining everyday.

this is how we lived in a jungle...god...i really missed those time...the time when i was awake twice a night because of the freezing cold weather. missed also the bird chirping soulnd in the early morning. missed also the morning where we have to rush to take down hammock, clear the campsite and keep moving.

trekking wasn't hard at all. during off day, we went there! there---MAGA WATERFALL!! i swear i have never been to this kind of places b4,such a nice place! everyone was amazed by the fierce water which flows down at an unbelievably fast speed. my team mate and i even refused to leave the beautiful maga falls.

after 12 days trek,our happy time at long pasia finally came to end.i left no regret in long pasia, coz i already enjoyed as much as i can.erm, mayb a small regret, i lost some cenderamatas that Nooh gave to me.

then, we proceed to the equally fun phase---diving phase!! it's time for vacation at mamutik island!

times at mamutik...i dunno what to say...it is just---real fun time! and of coz one of the reasons is....i dun have to eat oat porridge as breakfast anymore!

a photo of me with the angmohs.haha..thanks to them, i had many of my first times during expedition. first time sunbathe under the sooo hot sun. it was crazy and fun i thought. first time to get my hair braided. it's cool i thought. first time to join the FULL MOON PARTY. haha, this is the craziest stuff i have done during expedition,crazy stuff i never thought of doing if it's not expedition.

Raleigh expedition fasa dua--kampung mapan-mapan (you will have to listen how angmohs pronounce these words)
My community phase in kampung mapan2 is to built a kindergarten! what a wonderful meaningful task.we made a difference in other ppl's life.

dang dang dang dang! proudly presented to you my kampung.....
dang! the morning sunrise at abt 5.45am. yes, i sumtimes woke up at 5.30am for the sunrise shot and have a lonely morning walk around the kampung.

kampung mapan is a small little village with most of the villages catch fishes or other seafood for a living. oh yes, there was once i even waded across the sea to a small small island to help the women to collect oysters! but then i think i "gao gao zan, mou bong chan", ruined most of their oysters. it was a nice experience though.
this is what we did in mapan-mapan. again, very similar to the job in sepilok.

situation: very hot sun. normally the angmohs will say: "i'm baked"

job description:
1.carry more woods >_<" .
2.saw wood. we even had a sawing competition. my fastest record was sawing a 2"x4" wood in 28 second.that was the fastest i can go..considered quite fast d.
3.lots of arranging and nailing. bang-ing in a 4 inch nail into a piece of hard woods can be very demoralising whenever the nail bent.
4.actually not much work to do. i got lots of time to interact with the locals.or having a nap at the bench outside klinik kesihatan. or reading a book at the tower nearby the school.

accidents did occur.
almost everyday,we gotta do a medrep.
someone parang-ed his own finger.which is very stupid.
someone parang-ed,nail-ed,saw-ed,hammer-ed his thumb.the same thumb.which is very stupid also.
i knocked down a timber and unfortunately the 6"x3"x10' timber dropped on my unlucky left foot. was using a DIY bamboo tongkat for a day and limping like a victim who survived a bomb for a few days.

the 19-years-old boy and 17-years-old girl. see the difference if we eat rice everyday or if we eat bread,cheese,oats and milk everyday ?

after a day's work. this is a lil bit reward.
an open space washroom with kampung view+a bucket of rainwater+some mozzies bites= shower time
everyday, i cant wait for the refreshing shower! i loved this open washroom so much that i din even wanna wash in the proper washroom.

when i have got some free time(i have lots of free time actually), went down the water village and look for my frens. chit-chat with the locals, makan their kuih-muih and drink their tea(purposely did that to skip having oat porridge/crackers for lunch) or sometimes just chilled out at their house.

this guys, same age as me, he owned a red boat. it's very impressive. and he will undoubtedly win the "most helpful villager" award.

almost every evening, we played volleyball with these guys.all of them are orang asli. is either orang ubiyan,orang sulu or orang sungai. although they look like those illegal foreign workers in kl, they were actually very kind.

this is how the living hall looks like before breakfast,after breakfast,before lunch,after lunch and before dinner.

the kids! is really a bad timing to arrive in kampung mapan mapan. because of the seriousness of H1N1 cases,we were not allowed to teach english in the school. if would be great experience if i can teach them some english songs. but then, still i always lepak at the school area.had some random childish chat with the standard 1 kids, played forfiet chess with them and took lots of picture of these naive faces.
see? they are so cute.i cant remember their name,there are too many of them.i'm glad they remembered my name! but i think most probably now they have forgoten my name. working in a small village like this made me realised lots of things. if it's not kerajaan who sponsor their uniforms,school bags,textbooks and lunches, they might not have the chance to go to school. when they grow up,most probably they will get married with some guys and be a housewife. if these kids were born in city like kl, they might have a chance to make it to university and got some profession jobs.mayb a pharmacist,mayb my collegue. and i say these ppl are those who really need help, education sponsorship and not those city mxlxy with lousy results.

after a week's hardwork, finally this is our off day! to the island. is called pulau perkuburan. yea.is an island with graveyard. but we're like "bak mou kam gei", surprisingly, no spooky feeling, no one feel scared.hmm...this a very nice picture taken by me. that afternoon was one of the best moments in mapan-mapan too. it was a very hot afternoon and we(locals+venturers) were having a dip in the cool sea water. we menyelam-ed , found lots of baby jellyfishes, lots of starfishes, jumping into the sea water from each other's shoulder(quite hard) and competing with each other to see who can hold their breath longest in the water(of coz the sabahan won).

yeehee...this is our battle crab. they caught 3 crabs, tied them up, built a sand battle stadium and put them into battle with each other.if i'm not wrong, this crab won.as you can see, it is quite big in size. and i kena sepit by one of the crabs lo,super hurtS!!!! dun play play...then, i learnt a lesson:how to catch a crab correctly before catch you.

then there was once, i followed the orang kampung go korek telur burung. the eggs is almost twice the size of a chicken egg.very weird, this kind of bird lay eggs underground, then when the egg hatches, the baby bird will crawl all the way to the surface. really "shan kei" lo,first time i see this kind of bird. in less than 1 hrs time, the orang kampung already dug out 16 eggs.they take it back,cook it and eat it.

a crab. 2 kilos of crab for dinner! soooooo good.

a fish. a humungous fish for dinner. sooooo good again. few days later , we had prawns for dinner. soooooo good again!

i'm glad that i've been to this place. to have fun. to understand the locals. to build tadika kg.mapan-mapan.

the 09E xperience

my 09E xperience at sepilok, kampung mapam-mapan, long pa'sia and mamutik is the most unforgetable summer ever.

it is impossble to tell the expedition story in just few lines. like many other ex-venturers expedition stories ,it will be "yat pat pou kan cheong.". that is the only period where i can still vividly remember what i did 10 weeks ago,where have i been, what i have seen and whom i talked to. it is so true and like what Mac like to say: YOU WILL HAVE AN AMAZING TIME.

PHASE 1:SEPILOK JUNGLE CAMP FOR BSBCC
-working closely with Borneo Sunbear Conservation Centre to build a jungle camp
-free admission to see baby orang utans which are under quarantine.
-free admission to see the smallest bear in the world,sunbear.
-lucky enough to witness a wild orang utan in sepilok jungle.

One of the very raleigh style photo on Bravo FWD! the jungle camp WE BUILT is just behind the oil palm tree. lots of laughter, rain, sweat, hardwork, sunshine, parang-ing, wood ferrying, hole digging, sawing, nailing , chiselling, mozzie bites, star gazing, singing and games...

it took us few days of hard work and trek before we can actually sit down and lay down like this. such a harsh environment but we made it.

all cleared in just a morning.my parang buddy(the one in grey shirt), has very beautiful blue eyes! maybe it is the most beautiful eyes i have ever seen. and her killing smile..i heard lots of english boys talked abt it one...

not only on parang-ing.we were hole digging buddy too.although she's also very good in digging long drop(a hole for us to pee and poo),sorry lo. i dun wanna be her long drop buddy.

living with whole bunch of angmohs,being the only malaysian in the group, i got lots of culture shock.
eg. angmohs eat kuih with fork and knife. eat rice with fork. they said,spoon is for tea and soup ONLY.
eg.angmohs like to over exaggerate when they tell stories.mayb they wanna make it more interesting.my team mate told me she saw a DINASOUR in the jungle, where it was only a camourflage lizard.

lots of culture shock! you will know if u go expedition.

one thing that i'm very proud of this this papan i made.it is carved on belian wood,one of the hardest wood in the world and it takes a very very long time to reput.i want to get the papan back 2 years later."Rasa sayang" is the name of our camp. i had fun teaching them the song and laughed at them when they cannot pronouce it correctly.

the walkway of OUR jungle camp.took us 5 days to build the whole thing from foundation to zink roof.this is definately AMAZING job with AMAZING people in an AMAZING phase. i spent the last night of my phase sleeping in this jungle camp.that was one of the best nights in jungle.in the morning, the birds woke me up.

sometimes, leng lui got dirty too..hmm..maybe i should say, most of the time,everyone gets very dirty and sweaty.

wanna touch a bit on my pharmacy placement. it was a great opportunity to have my placement at a pharmacy in KAMPUNG selayang baru. it has changed my perspective towards a community pharmacy.used to think that community pharmacist a tedious and monotonous job.but now i find this job quite meaningful,especially when a community pharmacy is located at a kampung area(like my pharmacy). i have learnt a lot.realised i now can recognise the brands of some drugs and dietary supplement. kinda happy. haha.a brand new experience.

back to my nightmare

my biggest nightmare of trekking--gunung nuang. highest mt. in selangor.

back to 1.25 years ago,we conquered gunung nuang. and i swore i wont come back to this place.never ever.

but 3 days ago...i broke my promise to myself and ended up torturing myself along the trek.mentally and physically.
it took us abt 9 hours up and down, including lunch time and waterfall break. to my surprise, 9 hrs ?! i expected to complete it in 12 hrs.

gunung nuang trek is sth like this:
when u feel you have walked a lot,drenched in sweat,muscle getting sore and asking for how long more you have to walk to reach the peak, the answer will be: "if you really feel u're tired to the max d, you will have to walk/trek 2 more hours to reach kem pacat.kem pacat only.not even the peak.

i'm not sure whether this happens to everyone,but it happens on me:
whenever i have trekked for a long distance(and it must be a strenuous trek), i could hear "thud thud thud" sound only from my left ear. at first i thought my heart is pumping so vigorously until it bangs my rib bones and causing "thud thud" sound. till that day i finally figured out the real story. it wasn't "heart sound", what i heard was actually the pulses on my vein(neck). the blood is pumping so fast and so forcefully in the arteri/jugular vein and resulting audible pulse-even without sphygmomanometer. can imagine how strenuous the trek is?
the key point to unravel this "mystery" is--i cant hear the sound with my right ear, only the left ear.

although nuang is notorious for it's trek, it do have sth nice as attraction to make it a famous spot for camping. waterfall! nature massage! "swimming pool"! it's so nice to get back to nature.into the jungle and enjoy a moment like this. it was really really nice and very very relaxing. i quickly washed my boots, straight away i laid down letting stream water flow. whenever u feel like s1/sth is fanning you, undoubtedly it will be the wings of sweat bees(the annoying one).

huh, not really sad cos they're leaving for only 1 year.to aussie land.the land of kangaroos and koala and also the blacklisted country of wide spreading AH1N1.

shihchung, once our boss who taught me many things and can get quite emo sometimes.
xintong, the one who brought me into raleigh again by organising 168tahan. i basically just disappeared after my aug07 iw and if it wasn't the 168tahan trip, today you wont see me in raleigh.

raleigh ppl has always been so special to me.
raleigh= hiking, outdoors, expedition, crazy stuff, crazy frens, legendary stories,environmental work, community services, last-minute-call-yumchar, mid night waterfall slide,hot spring, work, responsibility... raleigh is much more than all these. without raleigh and raleigh frens, i cannot imagine how life is.

and if i wasn't part of the committee, i wouldn't have involved so much in raleigh activities. working with all these young working adults were pretty nice. Compared to working with ppl who are at the same age as myself, working with them is sth very different to me. i will always learn sth new each time i meet them.

"oh, this is how u can reply a harsh criticism email politely",
"oh,rupa-rupanya there's a stall in petaling streets tat sells tasty sang cheong with delicious lou shu fan",
"oh, this is how useful is an ordinary gaffer tape" ,

.....etc.

anyway, committee 08/09 is gonna dismiss soon at the coming agm.this will be one of my raleigh journey that i treasure a lot.

tadaa !!

i have finally bought this--the long awaited papa gorilla is now mine.
the papa gorilla(big one) is for myself and i bought 1 baby gorilla(small) for my sister as well.

i wanted to get a coloured baby gorilla. just as the same day after i bought grey&black baby gorilla at kotaraya, i saw shops selling red color baby gorilla at lowyat!! super pik chek.

at night when i was reading the operation instruction of the papa tripod, i finally managed to spot the main difference of papa and mama gorilla. a bit regret that i bought papa tripod instead of mama.

not double bond,triple bond or any other stereochemisty bond.

I just watched it yesterday night. on tv2,the channel i rarely watched and i noe is kinda outdate to only watch it now.

in fact,i wanted to comment abt the PHARMACOLOGY part in casino royal. (studied pharmacology on yesterday morning.)

storyline: james bond got poisoned by DIGITALIS(a drug group that increase your heart contractility and thus increase your heart rate) in his beverage. He experienced tarchycardiac and poked SOME BLUE COLOURED SOLUTION into his vein to neutralise the drug.lastly, he used defibrillator to revive his heart.

pharmacology: i suspect the blue colour solution, is actually intravenous potassium(K+) into his jugular vein.function:to increase potassium amount in heart to compete with all digitalis molecules to on Na/K pump in order to "neutralise" digitalis and relief tarchycardiac. because of the neutralisation, heart stop beating and then he uses a defibrillator to stimulate the heart to continue beating. (all these are deduced base on my very basic pharmacology knowledge, no evidence said it is absolutely correct.)

persoalan: how he can foresee his future problems and prepared a intravenous potassium and a defibrillator in his car?! is so not logic. and i dun think intravenous potassium is blue in color.

anyhow. it is a nice movie! love the fast pace.and most importantly,i can understand the whole story! why this and why that.

Music Talent Quest in Notts

[winner of the day-MBA and the groove. i climbed to a best position to take this photo and enjoyed the music.]

The second event i attended as an smc photographer. Although it wasn't as happening as mr.&miss nottingham, it was still an event that i wouldn't regret attending. Even though i have to drag my lethargic body back home, i would say it was worthy to stay till midnight.till the rain ceased.till the last performance ended.till the curtains drawn down.till the show has officially came to an end.

It was still too early to enter great hall, therefore we decided to become paparazzi of chiayin and siaohan and hunting for nice shoots around nottingham lake.

Going for a relaxing stroll along the lake is often not a bad idea after a day of lecture/lab session. And is definately not time-wasting.

about 7.30pm,yihchien and i entered great hall and the event was just about to start. UK campus practises malaysian culture too- it started off late by 30 minutes.

This was totally a successfull and lucky shoot! I have to pay attention to the music and predict when he's gonna jump. And, i got it! the moment i release my shutter, he jumped and i got it! sometimes, taking photos with only ur fingers and mind just aren't enough, use also ur ears.

She sang quite well to me.A sweet and natural vocal,her songs were quite soothing as well.But the judges seemed doesn't like her too much because the song she performed doesn't required much skills.(that's what they said.) there're a few more solo singers and band performer groups.just that some of their musics didn't impress me a lot. I would say the climax of the event was when bus company--a band from klang, performed. they're not contestant, one of the bus company's member was a jugde of music talent quest. the atmostphere in great hall changed 180 degree when they performed and people who went off earlier really zhao bou. Before that,I have never like rock music, i dislike rock music to the utmost. But I swear, they performance is the best live rock music that i have ever heard till now. The crowd were totally gone uncontrolled, everyone jumped like mad, screamed until they have no sound and indulged in the music without noticing it has already passed midnight. This is what we called a quality perfomance.And i finally understand why people loves rock music.

Received an forward email from mom.
Saying there is a prediction that there will be another tsunami disaster on 22nd july.Prediction says that country like Malaysia (Sabah & Sarawak), Singapore, Maldives, Australia, Mauritius, Si Lanka, India, Indonesia, Philippines are going 2 be badly hit.. but all these predictions are yet to be confirmed.

By 22 July, i'm gonna be at sabah. Looking at the map shown, sabah is within the region that predicted to be strike terribly. People are advised to stay away from beaches. i'm afraid. and anxious. What if i'm at my adventure diving phase by that time? even not me, what if the venturers at adventure phase kena strike by tsunami?

Realized too many people lost their love ones during last disasterous tsumani. Plus, recently unfortunate doom and gloom happened to people around me. It just doesn't make me feel well. i wouldn't want all these happen on me.

-i'm still very young.
-i still wanna explore.
-i couldn't afford to lose any of my family member. and i think they cant lose me too.
-i still wanna stay with my friends.
-i haven't become a pharmacist.
-i haven't contribute enough.

so happen that i browsed through the paper and stopped at an article titled PROCASTINATION.
so happen that ms evonne khoo was standing(with nth better to do) beside and correcting my pronunciation while i'm reading the article.

what a short and brief "lecture" on english pronunciation and hmm...i did learn sth new besides doing the tedious lung volume experiment for the whole day. - which i feel good.
i now still struggling on how to pronounce "tests","suggests" and "perfectionists". >_<"

back to procastination,
recently i'm addicted to photoshop. i could sacrifice my sleeping time and spend time to 2am just to edit a photo. and this requires lots and lots of my creativity cells....hope i still possess some.

well, it was a really successful publicity by wwf malaysia this year BUT did it successfully created awareness ?

people,why do u join earth hour?
a.it is a fun and cool event?
b.is it because u can buy a nice "60earth hour" t-shirt for only RM10?
c.you off lights because everyone off theirs?
d.you wanna do your part in making this earth a better world to live on?

off lights for an hour doesn't really contribute much in energy conserve. practice good habits daily and STOP tapau-ing,which my frens love to do.

in conjunction of earth hour, raleigh committee had our march comm meet IN DARK.

And finally it comes to a weekend when we can vent all the pressures on a squash ball or a pingpong ball. or simply sit by the bench outside sports complex to appreciate birds chirping after rain.

i like busy life though.i need sth to keep me occupied.i manage my time better when i'm busy.i can get more things done when i'm busy.that's why宁可将事物托付于忙碌的人，也不把事物托与空闲的人.

feels good when i sat by the bench.it's so relaxing.but sth is still missing in my mind.

[din expect the whole family came]

after a month of practicing,finally there comes the day of tie legs towerthon.

woke up early in the morning, anticipating the moment to arrive.

arrived at the starting point and meet dino,karlye,luyi,luying,peiting,christal (who all ran from karlye's hse ,which is located at kl central,to kl tower as last minute RIMM training..only raleigh ppl will do this kind of crazy and silly thing.
but i'm so greatful to join this crazy family, to do things where normal ppl wont do.

after approximately an hour of taking photo session/chit chat session/last training session/breakfast session,the comes 8.45am. the women open category is abt to start. sympathetic effect is taking place and my heart is beating in such vigorous tempo.so as shiwei's.

as the gun fired,the excitement mounted and we started to run!
(on the other hand raleigh gang berkecoh-kecoh along the road to do publicity.)

huh,i really felt the 1km uphill tar road was very much harder than 2058 steps on the stairs.at first, we wasn't that synchonise and we cant run fast.both of us were gasping for more oxygen and my leg muscles starting to get sore. but,okay, after a month of training,i believed myself to be mentally fit-at least i'm determine enought to endure the muscle sore and continue running without stop.

finally we're at the tower base and started our journey of the never ending climb.we sweat inside out,outside in even before we reached mid tower.i dunno how many floors are there,we climbed and climbed and climbed.by the way, i enjoy reading all the sportsman's quotes.although some quotes doesn't really inspired me,it fun to find out what these ppl spoke before.

at some floors,there's water break.it was really a temptation to stay at the air-conditioned room but not to forgot our initial thoughts was to complete our mission.shi wei asked me to time her so we are not staying in the room for a long time.we agreed on the time 3minutes. but then i was the one who take care of the timer, i allowed only 1.5minutes for each break.
experiment conclusion:unless you test urself fully,you cant know your true limits.

along the way up,saw some really fit veteran running up as if he's still a teenager.saw some not so fit uncle auntie was taking their own leisure time to wander up the stairs.saw some school boys sprang up like hell.saw some photographer we pose.saw some exhausted runner we smiled to encourage each other.saw some category E participants and i started to get nervous because we're taking too long to accomplish our task!

eventually and without realizing, we reached towerhead 3 and finished the race.after we have returned the number chip,we walked downstairs in 3 legs to towerhead 1-a place where u can have a 360 degree birdeye's view of kl city.then, we posed again.oh ya..not to forget to thank our official photographer christal and my official camera nikon D60 for all the photos taken.
since there's so many ppl q-ing up for the only lift to get down to towerbase, we loitered around towerhead to do some publicity.too bad there wasn't any media,i guessed they went down to take the winners' photographs ady.only some random curious uncle asking why are we tying legs together.

got down to meet fellow raleigh-ians and got my first medal!-a finisher medal in the goodie bag.i'm happy enough to get a medal.i'll remember what i did whenever i look at it.although we din meet our target to have it done in 1hour, it was still a great and unforgetable experience!

next,have our very own "bandana un-tie ceremony".din't expect there's some background music for our little ceremony.

last but not least, took a short cut walk to petaling street and have za zheung min as lunch.the mee was as nice as it was before.finally,i'd like to end the day(event) with this peaceful photo.

i found the right way to breathe during jogging and jogging really calms my nerves down.

when i'm in anger after the barbaric kacau, i think of calming myself by running.
i dint do that anyhow. too dangerous to jog at night in kl.

it's chinese new year again!

well, not too excited.not too looking forward.not too much expectation.
one of the happiest moment during my time in gerisik is having this photography trip around gerisik and having 6 models with me.

took this beside our house gate.i'm quite surprised to see lots of plants here!

arrived at 2pm.the weather was perfect to wander around and take some photos.all the way we chatted abt aboy's student exchanged trip to japan.

wandering...walking...and talking....then we found this house.the roof are broken.when i peeped inside there's nothing but i remember very well that i saw some clothes hanging outside.or maybe...there's two houses here.

2nd day.nothing much to do at home.we decided to go playground.i wanted to be inside the photo but i dun wan other people to hold my camera.

took this for sopobi. pura-pura emo.

accidentally took this shot.but i love it.one of the nicest photo of the day.

went to the muar river where our dads use to jump in and swim.but now look at the color,i dont even want my toe to touch the water.they had fun time looking for the tiny little mudskippers while dickson enjoyed his can of ice lemon tea without his mum's permission.

in fact, it is not suitable at all.

we dirtied our hands and books when writing using mechanical pencils.
(which primary school teachers often scold us)

we dragged the ink when using ink pens.
(which secondary school teachers minus marks for cleanliness and tidiness for homework and projects)

we fight with others when using chopsticks in a round table. so most of the time we're forced to site at the side..

however, it's not too bad to be a southpaw...at least we are SPECIALLL.....

participated in a photography contest during youth'09 event last weekend. The competition is played as a knockout game---only winners of the rounds get chance to participate in the second round.

each participant is given 30 minutes to shoot 10 photos relevant to the theme set by organiser shutterasia. Among 10 photos,choose 5 best photos to compete with his/her rival.

at first,i dont think my skill and creativity is good enough to join the game until the end.
But surprisingly, i'm better than what i thought myself to be and i went until the semi-final round and be 1 of the 8 ppl who stayed up for the competition. Luckily they judged more on creativity and relevance than skill, if not i think i would have been "ting" off in round 1.

i still think that it was my luck to be able to stay in the contest after i joined for 3 rounds.Until i beat 2 of my rivals to become the winner of round 4 in my group. Then i lost in round 5. One more win to bring back home a camera as prize!!!(i must always mention this)

In human body, our beloved adrenal cortex secretes glucocorticoids and CORTISOL , is one of the glucocorticoids. Cortisol is secreted highest during 6am-8am, the hormone then slowly decreases in its secretion from 8am to 8pm and at normal circumstances,cortisol secretion is lowest during about 9pm.

Cortisol is also known as "stress hormone". as its name implies, the hormone helps us to cope with stress by metabolising glucose, lipid and protein (via gluconegenesis,lipolysis,protein degradation) in our body thus liberate energy.

The highest amount of cortisol is at 6-8am, which means our body has more energy during that range of time.That's why we said 一日之计在于晨!

Therefore,we should do all our work/stressfull work/planning work from 6am to 8am then we can spend whole day sleeping bcoz we have most energy from 6am to 8 am.

found out 生命动力life force is actually not existing. me lagi bosong + a bit disappointed.

2009 nEw yEar rEsolution : -
1. By year end , i will select 10 best photos to represent my hardwork on photography.
2. For 1 month in 2009,i will practise jogging everyday on weekdays.
3. By semester end , i will get first class honour for my first year of pharmacy study.
4. By year end, i will get a summer vacation job in the UK.
5. By year end, i will finished reading 5 books despite of hectic life of a pharmacy student.

6. By July, i will fundraised at least Rm3500 to go borneo expedition.
7. By September, i will conquered Mt. K via ferrata route.
8. By year end, i will be able to finish reading a story in NatGeo without checking dictionary.
9. In 5 years' time, i will volunteer for world vision and an organization which runs like life force.
10. 5 years later, i will buy a hybrid car.

By now, i will start to work hard! -leave the blog and study pharmacology.

不像以前读电脑概论,sejarah 的时候，有觉得想吐血
还有，
大学读书没有固定的课本
喜欢读那一本就看哪一本
很自由很爽只是常常借不到书就会很不爽

phew, finally got some time to update tis poor blog..
has been abandon for dunno how long..

had my first presentation in my life last week
-it was nice...it was fun...
-was talking about "Aspirin-the wonder drug"
-sometimes feel tat i kept on repeating "talk abt"
eg:let's talk abt mechanism of aspirin.
just now we've talked abt the side effects of aspirin.
later i'll talk abt the dosages for aspirin.
is such a useful word tat can be used in past,present and future tense
then only i notice, Dr.Ting use a lot of "talk abt" in her lectures too

got my first physpharm report yesterday
thought i did terrible for the report
expecting an "unsatisfactory"
sometimes,
things are not as bad as you imagine.
surprisingly,
i got abt "satisfactory"?or"excellent"?
anyway,i consider it a very high mark.
after then,
i started to believe in myself:
-i can do well !
i'm motivated now!
become a pharmacist is still now my ambition!

i kind of like the way pharmacists work in industrial pharmacy
(disadvantage:brainstorming everyday..can be stressful too)
but the salary is higher..

last time when a hospital pharmacy came to give a lecture
i feel the working environment in hospital is not too bad too
(disadvantages:have certain days to work on call)
anyway, i still like the profession of pharmacy
i think i have choose the right pathway!

physpharm lab again
was doing an experiment on human subject
to measure the action potential on ulnar nerves
Experiment starts after i signed the consent form
jiangjiang, jiangjiang, jiangjiang
at the end of the experiment after 3 hrs,
i have kena electric shock(mild one) by 107++ times(minimum)
lowest shock is 0.0mA
highest shock is 17.5mA
later i found out some of my friends only got 12.5mA as highest shock only
-means i very tahan lasak??

it was a special day though
who else can kena shock so many times in a day?
besides hospital patient...

Nottingham pharmacy-ing

phew~time flies...i've now spent 1 week in nottingham
firstly, i wanna annouce tat i managed to get the JPA scholarship which made me extremely excited when i knew i got it! thanks to my mom,who did the great job to seize the chance for me.

life in nottingham
8am : bangun pagi, gosok gigi, tak ada minum kopi, makan roti
9/10am : going to lecture
4pm : finish lecture
4-6 pm : lepak in library-read magazines,newpapers, revision also?
6pm : makan?
7-9pm :sports time
9-10pm : showering
10-1am: comp lab, study

generally is like tat lar..is quite leisure these few days, probably becoz tis is just the starting point..
when v wanna mention some classmate which v dont know the name, v will mention like tis:
for girls : "neh....那个戴眼镜，长头发的那个女子啦..."
for guys :"neh....那个没有戴眼镜，短头发的那个啦..."
altually in our class, most of the girl and boys looked like tis...then at the end of the topic,v still cant recall who is she mentioning..

i'm quite happy to found someone to playbasketball and swim wtih in nottingham.cos in our class, 80% is female,i think 90% out of the 80% enjoys shopping, dislike outdoor activities. i must fully utilise the sport complex when i'm free cos 1st year is consider more "free and easy" than year 2.
Last thursday when i played basketball at night, found tat it is quite cooling at night in nottingham..quickly inhaled a few "lungful" of fresh air...:0

our pharmacy course is a 2+2 program...so it wont make me feel bored of staying in a same environment for 4 years time..2 year will pass in a blink.we will turn out to be a profession in 4 years time which i consider is a short period. Also bcos tis is a 2+2 program, therefore v only have 2 batches in UNMC which i feel is a good thing.it is quite interesting to be known as junior in 1st year, senior in 2nd year, junior again when in uk 3rd year, senior again when in uk 4th year.

i have a stong feel tat tis is going to be a great lifetime experience for me(although stranded in nottin jungle)..
i shall study very hard, put in lot of effort for my pharmacy course and at the mean time enjoy doing what i like during free time.---study hard, play harder. perhaps main-main ubi berisi?

p/s:huichian, tat day i tried the broga 烧非洲鱼. fantastic taste..
next time will be broga 板面!
just knew tat there's many farms nearby UNMC in broga town-chicken farm, rabbit farm, fish ponds...many more, i forgot.

singapore trip

背包客必经--受困雨中

梦想正一步一步迈进...人生的第一次背包旅行就这样展开了！

旅行目的地：邻国新加坡
旅行天数：严格来说-2.5天
旅游伙伴：黄秋琪
背包重量：左算右算也不过5kg

.....day 1.....

所到之处：
-raffles place:clarke quay,asian civilisation museum,victoria theatre, the art hse of the old parliament,the old supreme court,singapore river
-ntu hostel,ntu adm

抵达jurong east mrt station.肚子超饿，随便去买了SD$2.00的面包来吃，因此而错过了传说中（听姐姐说）jurong east mrt station 好吃的meesiam...垂心 ><"

mrt 篇：
第一次搭mrt，花了将近15分钟来研究mrt station 的 paying system,路线等...
买票时，还莫名其妙，不懂为什么明明是SD$1.50的票会变成 SD$2.50...原来是要附加SD$1.00的deposit...害我们研究了好久..><"讲是买票，不如讲是卖卡...进mrt 是用卡tap的...糊里糊涂就tap了一下，都不懂有没有scan到，还害我们担心了那短短30分钟的路程，结果还是顺利tap 了出回来...phew~
觉得新加坡的mrt很有system,很efficient -
malaysia 的putra lrt输在太短，太慢，station 设在不知所谓的地方；
star lrt 输在太慢，买票居然还不可以用纸钞，肮脏；
ktm , 简直输人家九条街....
发现：mrt 的escalator 都走到很快，新加坡人的步伐快？害我差点跟不上

自由行篇：
吃饱，计划去raffles places逛一逛再去boon lay mrt station 找佩雯，慧谦，劲奕他们。
蛮喜欢raffles place 这个地方的，raffles place的feel很不一样，走在街上，根本不像走在亚洲，就像置身于欧洲/澳洲。
发现原来新加坡也多了一股艺术气息，随随便便就可以看到一些艺术品在街上。
想象如果masjid jamek, klcc, bukit bintang,pavilion 那一带能变成这样...不用想象-impossible
结果两个傻婆在那一带玩了将近3个小时，拍了很多照片...最重要的是我想我们很享受当时的感觉，那种无拘无束，想去哪里就去哪里的感觉...
唯一的遗憾：没有dslr在手，很多很美的建筑物没办法完美拍摄...第二次垂心..><"

ntu篇：
晚上去meet他们 (从raffles place 又奔波回boon lay station,boon lay 其实就在jurong east 的后几站)
以为可以尝一尝什么在地美食，怎知道...晚餐就在mcdonald解决..><"
聚一聚，没想到还有10++， 20-- 的中学同学出来这次的聚会
晚上，决定到ntu的宿舍去squad.寄住在慧谦的房间；秋琪在kimberly的房squad
还蛮开心的-- -见识到ntu的宿舍生活，能住在那样的宿舍，是我的话，我会很开心
-很有大学生活的feel，但是，教育学生用分数去换取住宿的资格，有点不健康 . 我觉得酱参加社团活动很假，很现实，人与人之间会产生互利（互相利用）关系
-半夜在tv lounge 谈天的那段时间，我是几怀念一下的，听到他们的大学故事，令我对自己的大学生涯有憧憬
-参观ntu adm..超有创意的建筑物，同时发现他们去了ntu，讲话很大声><", 在adm 讲话还有回音...hmm..在adm还巧遇志明--学警朋友
-蛮喜欢慧谦宿舍的厕所...有干净

警戒心过重篇：
我记得一进到慧谦的宿舍，就把本能他的门的两个锁上锁...谁知他讲不用锁，新加坡是low crime rate
半夜睡觉不用锁门，球鞋可以放门外，半夜可以去跑步
我有点惊讶，居然安全到这种地步...malaysia ?-impossible

睡觉篇：
慧谦一直嫌他的床很小，两个人睡时还特意占了床面的minimum area....结果是：两人中间有很大一块面积留给了空气睡，早上起来，两人不是手痛，就是睡眠不足....><"

.....day 2......

拉面篇：
早上起来，早餐于ntu canteen 9(经前晚的"精心"挑选) 后，道别ntu 的朋友.
回到表哥家，放下背包，前往chinatown! 寻找多人推荐的汤圆...
在chinatown 兜勒又兜，还下埋雨...终于给我们找到那个卖汤圆的摊子! 但是好选不选，选那天休息?! 算，没有汤圆吃...
我：觉不觉得肚子有点饿?
琪：还好
我：可是我好像蛮饿leh...刚才有一间店....
琪：卖拉面的?
我：对！好像很好吃酱...
琪：刚才走过那个坐门口的人吃到好像很好吃酱！
（两人又开始很兴奋的走回头找那间拉面店，原来两人都注意到了那间店)

进去点了两碗看起来，听起来，感觉会不错的拉面.还假厉害地点了“加辣”
面还没端来时还在谈天的，面来了以后，都在静静吃面
--因为辣到....讲不出话

巧遇宋慧乔篇：
吃饱，我们从chinatown走到clarke quay，走到one fullerton 去看merlion,顺便看对岸的esplanade和singapore flier
路经sg river 有拍了不少百痴的照片，心想晚上的clarke quay 一定很美
走着走着，wuu...看见有一组人在拍戏.....再看清楚点，是韩国人在拍韩剧
逗留了一下，都不懂主角是谁..本来决定离开..突然扫到旁边有一个很像宋慧乔的人..
没错！真的是她！还在我们10米不到的地方走来走去！
结果，我们很开心的在那里逗留了约30分钟还不舍得走，期待会有什么掴巴掌，打架，翻台的镜头
很可惜，都是平平的剧情...偷拍了照片后便离开了...
想深一层，宋慧乔也是人一个，没有必要见到他就高兴成这个样，只是平时在电视上美美的人突然出现在面前，难免觉得不可思议

macam-macam org pun ada 篇：
走到merlion的地方，听琪讲了的有关新加坡风水的故事...
看merlion的地方很多人，刚巧有一班很兴奋在拍照的中国人，各式各样的pose 都有，都不懂他们想怎样
我们也拍了几张
本来很想过对岸的esplanade，city hall 走走的，可是太累，取消念头
后来才知到原来bugis street 也在那里附近....遗憾没有过去，垂心 ><"

orchard road 篇：
搭mrt去orchard rd看看，
原来没什么好看的，尽是名牌店，不能获得琪和我的注意力
逗留了大概半小时便离开了
还记得那时是换我拿雨伞，琪拿三脚架--有觉得那么一点点地丢脸，因为拿着蓝色，样子有点老土的雨伞，还要走在orchard rd...
想深一层，也没什么好丢人的...就不过是一把伞，不要太在意别人的眼光
发现：shopping地带的escalator速度好像跟回malaysia的速度，是因为休闲逛街要relax的关系？？

branded

night safari 篇：
草率吃过hotdog面包当晚餐，相当的不好吃（不禁怀念1902还是1901 的hotdog 面包）
搭mrt 换bus 去到night safari....新加坡巴士站都安排得那么systematic...很不错
到了night safari,琪显得非常兴奋，我想她大概最期待这个地方吧...
我觉得他好像玩的特别开心...
看show 时，我还蛮欣赏那个领导show的工作人员，她控制的相当不错，也有一定的幽默啦
尽管她的幽默将会是每天晚上，每个show都一样
看完show，琪还付钱跟了3种动物拍照---蛇，狸猫，猫头鹰
很明显，跟蛇和照时琪在强颜欢笑，
我则很享受地为她和动物照相....

夜景篇：
晚上，JJ来接我们...
路经nus,决定上kent ridge park 看夜景..幸运的话，还可以看到偷情等的事情
那里是西部，我想傍晚来应该看得到日落吧...
这里的夜景还ok lor...因为有树叶阻挡了部分视线...
那里有一部坦克车，我们爬了上去，当然是拍照
半夜，约a mai 出来吃宵夜--我们到新加坡的美味第一餐

.....day 3.....

早上起来，外面正下雨
吃了早餐，拖下拖下，才来到jurong bird park
在bird park 待了3小时多，本来还很有ohm 的，但bird park 实在太大了，走到最后我们都没有mood 走下去了
草率结束bird park之旅，没有看到world tallest man-made waterfall...遗憾....就差那么一点点..

本来要去sentosa 的，被bird park 搞到没有mood了...
改变行程去nus 探望佩雯，顺便参观nus 宿舍...
nus 和 ntu, ntu给我的感觉较好..
ntu 的朋友看起来活得比较开心，nus的朋友看起来较为拼学业而感压力
幸好我没选择nus science....
在佩雯的房间呆了一下，打扰她读书一下，顺便拿了一些东西
就回JJ家...

晚餐在auntie 家解决----美味第三餐
晚上本来还想出去的，但大家都太累了，不小心睡着

.....day 4......

七早八早起来，吃过美味早餐，就出发赶巴士回kl lu...

感想：
这次的旅行满意程度70%，唯独第三天的行程还相当的不满意
总算，学到了一些东西，这次的旅行还需再改善----行程，精神状态，态度方面
我感觉这次的旅行好像有不开心的成分--不懂如何形容，也让我更看清楚自己
祝下次旅行会顺利!!

hai everyone!

yesterday, i was browsing canon website.suddenly i found out tat they are going to do this tree planting project.
although i dunno what they are going to do and how, but it looks attractive and interesting to me

i just uploaded one of my photograph on it, is a photograph of a mudskipper.
just a small request, when u open the website, go to "go green", go to " goodies", then dl the wallpaper, set as your desktop wallpaper. i think the greenish bg is very nice lah...i like the bg music also-last night i listened for 1 whole night.
so everytime u open ur laptop, ppl will ask:"eh, y ur bg so special one..?"
then u answer+promote a bit : "support go green project mar!"
if interested, can ask them to upload their photo onto the website..or mayb participate in the tree planting project.
for u guys who r not in msia, just go green lo...dun take plastic bag,switch off charger whenever hp is fully-charge,boikot restaurant which uses polysterene plates(bring own tupperware)..blah blah blah...i think u all should noe..for heng rui: dun drive so much-burning 1kg of fuel emits 3kg of carbon dioxide...

the reason why i like my current job as part time photographer:
1.have tour in aquaria EVERYDAY! (admission fees for malaysian adults=rm 28)
2.get a free klcc aquaria tshirt which costs rm 32.90
3.play with camera EVERYDAY! (when not under supervision of boss of coz)
4.learn photoshop (play with photoshop when not under supervision of boss)
5.simply edit the tourists' photo as my own hobby(when not under supervision of boss)
6.feel the satisfactory of customers when they receive the photo i took and edited.
7.saw many cute babies tourists..they usually sleep..
8.play with snake (at the reptile station)
9.working hour 11am to 7pm
10.can improve my english and bm, especially bm.we only got banana,indians n malays there..
11.get pay to do things i like,why not?

the things i want to complain working there:
1.pay me so low..
2.supervisor always place me at the entrance-the place i dislike most
3.lunches are so expensive around kl area
4.leg pain after work..standing whole day
5.get only 1 t-shirt..which i think they should give me 2

HOPE:
klcc aquaria will increase my salary!!

等了三天，这三天日子似乎过得特别慢...又不懂是否该去interview另一份工..
终于! 他打来通知说星期一可以上班！
心中那种爽+兴奋的感觉，简直满得快溢出来了..
很久没有这种“那么爽”的感觉了--记得最后一次澎湃的感觉是无意间发现菁菁四年前寄来的信的那一次...
yohoo..! 星期一开始就可以在 klcc aquaria 做 part time photographer,
想到--都几爽一下

nomad adventure land-gopeng,perak

yoooo!!! it has been a few days after i came back from gopeng! it's time to update.
Went gopeng on last weekend, for raleigh agm + doing sth u could never tried in KL.
guess wat? BODY RAFTING + HIGH ROPE COURSE in only rm50!! super cheap for raleigh members! which normal price is abt rm100++ just for high rope course excluding body rafting+ accomodation.

i skipped all the unnecessary parts so that i can make the story shorter.

Part I : BODY RAFTING
i assume u guys noe what is rafting, then body rafting means:forget abt the rafting boat,
use ur body(hands, legs) to raft!!

all i have to do is RELAX~ then follow the current..
then i will eventually flow to the destination..
sometimes, do need to use hands/legs to change directions
-to avoid bumping into big rocks and tree branches..
soaked in the cooling river water is simply relax and nice...
if and only if-u noe how to protect urself well..
if not, u'll ended up with bruises, scratches,cuts on your..
butts,arms, legs..
oh,one things-vincent found a durian under the river..
luckily no one step on it..
or else....
see how excited v are before v depart..

Part II : AGM
i have been chosen to be the logistic officer for year 08/09
hope i will do my part well
and take the opportunity to learn..

Part III : high rope course

tis is a great experience..
i'm actually quite scared when nomad staff is doing briefing..
but i completed all though..
a big clap from myself to myself..

hmm...first time using all the safety stuff..
feel excited-->worried-->tired
bcos my balancing skill is so lousy..
i put all my strength on my hands,
i gripped the rope so tightly..
fear of falling down..
if u fell down, 2 things u have to do (taught by staff)
-smile with the ppl under you =)
-self rescue..means makan sendiri
(no one can help u except urself)

besides that, i have never stood in an open place which is so high..
saw some durians under me...
feel weird..
usually v look upward when looking at the durians hanging on tree..
but now i look downward and saw durians under me..
hehe..funny feeling..

and then i discovered that : -
i'm not afraid of the height,
but my balancing skill is very poor...
always shaking here and there up the rope..
there's no plank in btw..have to use swing!! swing to the other side..

let u to judge whether is tis consider tall..

overall, i feel tat ketiga-tiga high rope course ini fUN!!

Penang in 24 hours program 11/6/2008

yo....why no post recently ??
someone is having exam...someone is having holiday...someone is working so hard..
me?? i went to penang last weekend--tat's why i cant join the yumcha session last sunday..

i went to penang to join this " 24 hours in Penang " program. it is a photographing trip..it was an awesome trip..it was a wonderful experience!!
have u ever join 30++ strangers, camera in hand , tripod in hand , target destination-everywhere and anywhere, target to capture-everything and anything u like, walking or i shall say wandering in the town area in the middle of sea breeze in early morning(0630am?) or under the blazing-11 o'clock-sun...just to take some nice shot..
yea..i did that..and that was fun..

for the first time, i used the SDL(professional) canon camera which i borrowed from my sis's fren.
is not as easy as i think to get nice shot...many things to adjust on the camera- iso,shutter time,aperture,flash, WB...all those "professional nouns" i learn from them..
they're all really pros -can tell the pros and cons of canon and nikon SDL cameras..like "canon camera tend to capture the blues of sky too light or too much.."...then another guy will defense cos he's using a canon camera " nikon oso ......" is like debating..but overall, they're just jiao liu-ing..(how to say jiao liu in english?)in a proper way- sharing opinion..
i went there and know nth abt the camera i brought,
once they asked me:"wat model is ur camera?"..
me:" canon."
them:"model??"
me:"er..arm....eiii...dunno."
them:"wat lens u using??"
me:"erm...dunno."
but what so ever...i'm went there to learn...so no need to be shy..just say dunno whenever u dunno...
then pace forward to ask.then u'll learn sth really precious..u learn from their experience..at no cost.

so, i did took a lot of photos-almost 400 photos i think, but nice shots less then 10 photos..or less than 5 photos.
then i may need to photoshop them to make it nicer..those photoshop-ed photo they did on my photos are really nice!! very dramatic..hmm...seems like i'm poisoned..by photography. and i planned to learn photoshop during my holidays! i found new interest.
another good thing abt photographing is u can look things in another "jiao du". (how to say jiao du in english?)
u may discover the unseen side of a thing or matter..
another another good thing to do photography during ur trip is u may be able to discover and explore more abt the place/building/ppl/culture..is like u are there purposely to take photo, so u'll try to look for every single nice thing to make ur photo interesting..then u began to notice things u have been overlooked these days..
i remembered wat they say :" u can make ur photo talk." / "capture the moment."

another thing i found is, penangites are very proud of their homeland...they love the place they lived on so much..
like to introduce every single nice thing in this lovely island to "foreigners" from KL like me and my fren...
penangites:" this chicken rice is very famous..." /" nasi kandar from this mamak is very nice oso" /"u must visit blah blah blah when u visit penang" / " blah blah blah has the nice-est nightview in penang " / "penang laksa is the best in m'sia".....many more...afterall , they're all very friendly and nice..i only paid for my dinner during my time in penang..they paid for my breakfast, lunch, supper, 2nd day breakfast..and petrol..really thanks for their hospitality..

sunday morning ~0130am, v went penang upper road to take photo..known as penang clubbing area..this is the first time i went clubbing area..not as happening as i imagined..a bit lame lo...lights no good oso..mayb i c from outside not so happening gua...but i did saw ppl arguing, ppl vomiting until seven colors, hot babes...but no see handsome guys..saw beggars...><" another interesting moment, v learn a lesson-"whenver u're hungry and coincidently u have ur camera with u, u can cheat for free lunch!" v got our free mee raja and kopi-O kau just bcoz the tauke of the hawker center thought v're coming to advertise for him...but v do took some photo for him in return.. okay..too long..it's time to do conclusion. Konklusinya, i have learnt a lot in this program , either in photography or the way i think..it somehow helped broaden my horizon, gimme a chance to meet new ppl .i think a lot after this program. ----more pics on facebook(haven posted)

in conjunction with it, i joined the environmental work
organised by timberland
-branded outdoor stuff outlet
before v started the work,
everyone is given the timberland t-shirt
quality-85%cotton+15%organic cotton
tis is first time i heard ORGANIC cotton
-said tat it grown without harmful chemical
i dunno whether it's true
but the shirt is truly comfortable

okay, today's work (my team)
-plant trees
-paint the walkway bars

(another team)
-clean the mangrove land area
basically just collect rubbish

personally, i think there's one more task
-feed the mozzies
basically, today's work is just like tat
planting trees is tiring,
but i like the feel
addicted to the nature already..
these few days keep thinking of owning a fruit farm..
i calculate ady,plant n sell fruits altogether
can make money..
although wont get considerable income
-as long as u like wat u're doing
sometimes i wish i'm not kl-ians
so i can experience more
but I'M
still, i appreciate it
being kl-ians have the benefits

after the work,
-had some refereshing orange juice(nice)+lunch
-free admission to the museum there
-get the permission for feeding monkeys
-had kuala selangor tour by the tram
(which emits fumes to pollute the air,in this earth day)

BUT,
b4 tat, the never-to-forget thing must be done
posing after hardwork
additional advantage of joining the work:
-had a lecture of insurance by jia li
(now i noe much more abt insurance ady)
-noe more abt timberland

today's feeling:
it is quite sarcasm to say v done tis in earth day
-tram emits the fumes
-most timberland workers drive to meeting point instead of taking public transport
(emits more unwanted gas while u planted the trees)
-drove 2 buses to kuala selangor when v can actually make it in one
-i accidentally brought fried rice in the early morning

a blind photograher

guide: "he" refers to a photograher who was almost completely blind
"she" refers to an ordinary woman who has lost her husband

He asked if he could take a picture of her.When he raised up the lens and looked through it,she asked what he saw."The same thing i always see,"he said."Which is?""A blur," he said."Then why do it?"she asked."In case my eyes ever heal," he said. "So i'll know what i have been looking at."

tis is my very first (duno whether it will be the last) time
to challenge tahan-the toughest in south east asia
and tis is the starting point--Sg. Relau

b4 the trip started,we cheered up ourselves !
making a man-made tee rainbow , which meant HOPE
to get spirited!

the terrain is really not to play..
up and down hills , river crossings , muds everywhere , raining everyday
we were wet inside out and outside in...
it was freaking cold..
our hands were frozen..shivering all time tat u have to hug each other to keep warm

even a packet of maggie v have to cook for half an hour
cos the burner was wet...i would like to die under the condition..
BUT anyhow, we have to nge nge lai..
"what doesn't kill me will only make me stronger."
day 1 : 6 hours trek
day2 : almost 13 hours trek (2 hours in rain)
day 3 : 1 hour trek to peak (trapped in rain the whole day)
day 4 : approx. 12 hours trek (almost 5 hours in rain)
day 5 : 5 hours trek

despite the coldness,sweat, bruises, cuts, torns under our skin
and the almost 20kg loads in our backpack..
we conquered mt. tahan!
tis is the craziest thing i have ever done in life.
all the sacrifices are worth..

when u reached the peak, u have to pose like tis..hahah

everyone gone crazy when the camera came..

my hiking mates..we made it TOGETHER!
we left the unforgettable and priceless memory for each other..
they r really funny mates...energetic youth who worth u to spend time together
again, we made it !!

the most beautiful sunrise i have ever seen..
it was all so fake yet so real...
i cannot believed i stood higher than the cloud,watching over the sun to come out..
besides the sun, the cloud was another amazing thing..
it was like tau fu fa...unbelievably heavenly beautiful..
i dunno how to descibe..
staying over night at the freezing cold 2187m peak was
just waiting for tis moment..

kem botak ...1943m...still 2.5km=1 hrs trek to peak
we spent one night here..
when v built our tents, it was raining..
i dun even wan to have dinner tat night...
too cold to move, scared tat warm will leak out if i shake a bit..
however, u will get sun burn here in the morning..
cos it is botak, no trees to cover the direct sunlight.
some of my mates did get serious burn..
especially the boys who are hao lian..
who like to take of their shirts..

so tat i can watch it everyday, until i'm fed up with it..

kkk- here comes dirty things-
i bathed in the river only once, which was the second last day..
changed my undies for the first time -feeling refeshing..hah
i brushed my teeth the first time on the last day..

cant post all photos here coz..not going to be nice..
